We have the privileged of seeing a wide range of patients from all ages. Our pediatric patients are learning oral care for the first time. It’s our job to teach kids at a young age to take care of their teeth to prevent problems later in life. We recommend children start coming to the dental office around 1-2 yrs of age in order to gain experience and learn how a dental visit goes. All exams on our youngest patients are complimentary until they are of the age to willingly sit and get their teeth cleaned and a full exam can be completed with the child’s cooperation, usually around 3-4 yrs of age. Vigilant oral care is critical throughout the life of our patients. Neglect can lead to complications that require medical attention. Neglect can even lead to anxiety about one’s teeth and oral hygiene that can negatively influence other areas of life. Unfortunately healthy teeth don’t come without care, the good news is that a life-long happy mouth can be achieved with less than 10 minutes of care a day.
